Heavy metal anyone?

Staff members at Washington Park happened to notice there weren't very many heavy metal materials in the shared collections of public libraries in Rhode Island. Above, some of WPK's recently acquired materials.
Where to begin your heavy metal research?
You might want to check out the following book:
Author    Weinstein, Deena.
Title    Heavy metal : the music and its culture / Deena Weinstein.
Edition    Rev. ed., 1st Da Capo Press ed.
Publication Info.    [New York] : Da Capo Press, 2000.

Or maybe the Wikipedia entry, which begins: "Heavy metal subculture"Headbanger" redirects here. For the figure skating lift, see Figure skating lifts#Illegal positions.

Fans of heavy metal music have created their own subculture which encompasses more than just appreciation of the style of music. Fans affirm their membership in the subculture or scene by attending metal concerts, buying albums, in some cases growing their hair, and most recently, by contributing to metal websites.[1]"

More directly, here's the video for Hangar 18, from Megadeth's album from 1990, "Rust in Peace," now on order for WPK's CD collection. Enjoy.

Proper Gentlemen's Newspaper Club

What is the Proper Gentlemen's Newspaper Club? Who are they?

They pull their chairs up close to the circulation desk.
Newspapers cover their faces. But polite? Certainly.
They're not in the way; they never speak.
They don't check out books or movies.
We hope they'll introduce themselves one day.
